Hmm... I know! Because they're now in physical form and when in sword form they eat by cutting! << Why are the shimigami hungry? How do they get drunk for that matter? I mean spirits dont need food nor have stomachs.

Dunno... they did go back into sword form and when this next section started it sounded like they were out because they wanted to be but now its because they can't go back.
Because... spirits have to keep up their spirits somehow! lol

exactly... shimigami needing food is weird enough, but their swords needing food is even weirder!
yeah, first they didn't want to. now they can't. lol it's confusing!

They forgot what they had said at the start of this filler filler. Or maybe a different writer wrote this episode and wasn't clued in or... they just decided to change their reason because... they needed some reason for Hanataro's sword to run away.

Everything after the sword dieing is a differnt writter. originally the swords returned to there state as soon as he died. They just wanted to strech the filler

but at the beginning of the filler it was because they wanted to "get out" and then it turned into, they can't return to their normal form. so, even that writer had inconsistencies xD

Maybe he was told them being out because they wanted to wasn't a good enough reason or else they'd end up becoming more central characters and filler characters can't last past the filler so it had to become they were stuck out so it'd be a problem that would be resolved and they could at last go back. << Maybe.

Err, well, the entire thing is based off a scratched arc of the manga writter. He couldnt fit it into the story so he just gave it to the anime people as a filler arc. I imagine that the ending of the arc is weird cause of that.

lol, easy to tell where they ran out of what story he had written for it. Got really weird xD Then this continuation filler has its issues for that same reason. Least it does have its funny entertaining bits.

Indeed, Kekkaishi, Monster, and Durarara were good, though they were technically before Toonami return... though they did put Bleach in Toonami.
