lol probably would! especially for the shorter destinations (like less than a day drives)

Indeed, and probably even two long day drive trips which could then be turned into one day trips as the car pulls an all nighter. Possible downside... car isn't watching for animals hopping on the road so what would happen if a deer or such got on the road?

splat?! dunno. and same for little kids running across the street. must have to have some kind of sensors?

Would have to have that, but at higher speeds it would be much harder for it to stop in time. Unless it can be set to have longer range sensors. Definitely an important aspect to figure out and make sure it works!

Guess they must have something for that since they're testing them on actual roads in Nevada.

they must. maybe they'll tell more about it after more testing has been done

Probably don't want to let out too much info before they've got it all working. Hmm, or perhaps Nevada's news had stories with more info than what was given elsewhere.

Probably. As a kid I remember thinking of an idea like that where the cars would drive themselves and that it'd be cool... so it's kind of neat to see that they're trying to do that.

yeah, it is kind of neat. i always thought that it'd be the roadway parts that controlled the cars xD

Ah, probably would be more costly to build something like that

well.... it'd be the govt having to do it... and they probably wouldn't
