According to a recent press release, the first half of 2008 has been good for the Lego Group. Sales have increased 20% compared to this time last year translating to a profit of 564m DKK (roughly $113 million USD). The new Indiana Jones theme has started strong alongside older favorites like City and Star Wars. Jørgen Vig Knudstorp, CEO of the LEGO Group says that, "The result demonstrates once again the great strength of our classic product lines and the importance of combining these with new strong licenses." Read the full press release www.lego.com/eng/info/default.asp?page=pressdetail&contentid=82578&countrycode=2057&yearcode=&archive=falseHmm, this means that their increase in sales profit occured before they raised their prices. Not that they'll say hmm, ok, we didn't need to raise prices and can lower them for our customers. Most disappointing.

they really ought to drop them back down but... like any company you know they won't >< though I figure people will slow on buying or nvm... if you go on bzp... little kids have no sense of money so it's fine and they accept it perfectly and the ones that are sw collectors like me will still get them though we'll glare at lego for it and hope they drop them back down. I mean... they're double what they should be, 12 bucks for a toa that has less peices and connections and stuff you could actually moc with compared to original 6 buck toa that were perfect for mocs. or in sw the hailfire droid set which is cool but... 20 bucks for it... should come with 2 hailfire droids and 2 spiderdroids for that price... more like a 10 buck set and the 10 buck ones are really 4-5 dollars. oy... recall the small bionicles with 50 or so parts for 3-5 bucks? now 8 bucks with 14 peices...

yeah...and the models arent getting smaller either is the thing..there just taking the creativity and the construction out of it so its more like every other toy which is annoying..cause kids like me who maybe build the model how its suppose to be once then make it "better" by completly taking it apart and making something completly new have to buy even more and even then soem of the peices are so big you cant really do anything with them other then build that set.
reminds me of a funny story..one of my friends works in this shopping center..theres a quiznos in the same parking lot, and if you drive across the street (its way to busy to walk) you can go to a bunch of other reasteraunts which is generally what people on there lunch break did. At any rate, teh quiznos was on the verge of being shut down cause they werent making enough money..so the manager came up with this idea that why not give a discount to everyone that works in the shopping center..and by giving them 40% off they tripled there prophets, and became teh most successful quiznos in fort worth, and generally only have business from the people at the shopping center.

yeah, either the set or a remodelling of the set unless you get enough of the right peices at which point you wonder... where do I get the money to do this? oy... so bionicle ones aren't really worth it. Star Wars ones you can still get and enjoy but even they cost too much, but at least you still get good parts that aren't enlarged molds to make it so 14 peices, really 12 with two extras to make a same sized set
hmm, that sounds like legos brickmaster thing and getting free small sets with each issue along with more/better content

yeah with alot of them..they usually didnt have the instructions to though, they just had pictures of the other model and said you could also build this. The mindstorms however you could build like tons of differnt things with it..all of which were pretty fun.. though those were pretty expensive too XD they also had alot that were combind building..like if you got this set, this set, and this set, you could put them all together for something cool.

they still have their combo things that you have to get their instructions online. and do have several city sets you can get and combine together into one building.
to really get a bunch of bionicle peices to moc you'd end up having to just go for a ship that they have now and then you might get enough of the usefull parts that you could actually use.
