na, volcana was just an idiot that didnt realize what ikkakus bankai did tell like 90% of shonen fights it turned out his bankai was the same power as his own release >.>

hmm, maybe it'd be better if his limiter had been released. hmm, and ichigo wasn't beaten up all that bad, just one stream of getting punched up and sure grimmjaw claimed it just gave him average speed and all but sonido and flash step and the quincy one all seem about the same to me and ichigo was prolly still scared of his inner hollow to try and go more out with its speed like he did against byakuya at the beginning of that fight.

ikkaku doesnt have a limiter, part of the reason he doesnt show anyone his bankai. Only Captain and Lt. get limiters, so ikkaku, yumichika, ichigo, rukia, etc. dont have them.
err..well..he could be holding back in that fight cause of holding back...And yeah..the flash steps all look the same to me too lol..but from what they say: Espadas > Quincys > Shimigamis though really I cant tell the differnece in any of them but the weird ass names they get...well besides the espadas, cause in a later fight ulqui implys that the espadas are more of a teleportation because he can track the flash steps movements, but not the espadas version of it.

so that was his full power then
yeah, but for some reason seem to surprise each other using their own versions which is strange if you ask me... you know they can do it so why be surprised and then poof one does the same thing to the other and they're surprised... =/

err ikkaku? its debatable. Lots of people speculate ikkaku is holding back more, especially insight of them bringing up his reluctnese to use it again and again, but its all really just speculation and has no back bone.
yeah lol.. reminds me of the naruto game were they endlessly subsitute

I like it, its a strongpart of his character as well as yumichika and kenpachi. Ikkaku limits himself for pride, Yumi limits himself for acceptance, Kenpachi limits himself "for fun" though judging from his fights, is more because he wants to learn about his oponents so he can try and teach them something: Vs Ichigo~ taught him to have confidence in his abilities which lead to him trusting zangetsu
Vs Ichinose~ tried to teach him to let go of anger and learn how to forgive, and even if not to walk your own path no matter what
Vs Ikkaku~ taught him the will to live and fight for something, instead of fighting for the thrill
>.> I can think of other examples but spoilers.

I dunno, I think its kinda dumb of him, that or selfish just so he can fight under kenny but I guess you could say that's his character which is about fighting over duty

Its not the logic or intelegence of something that makes it great, but how far your willing to go for it. Ikkaku and Yumi are both willing to die before revealing there trump cards, which though for, i agree btw, stupid, selfish, vain reasons, is pretty admirable that they would go so far for something.

yeah, he used it in the rescue rukia arc against hisugai (69 tatoo guy) but they didnt really show anything of it in detail, he uses it again much later in the series were they explain it better to boot. in the soul society arc he only really explained that he doesn't use it because hed be made fun of because its a kido type, not a physical type.

but he used it against hisagi? but won't use it otherwise?
hmm, I'd call it more stubborn than admirable but sometimes I suppose stubborness can be admirable ...
