Well they basically shut down mangafox and onemanga. Now how am I supposed to be able to read. manga?! I wish they would at least let the versions that aren't released yet be up for others to read. Though... it makes me wonder how I am going to catch up on some series that I like... :/ Especially since I can't even find them in stores...

I remember seeing that on someone's dA blog about them shutting down those sites. Which is really sad, I mean.. why? you could easily go to the library and get the exact same thing there but online (assuming the library bothered to get them), so what's the big deal? sure for some people in US and other countries get to read them before a company translates, but so what? not like they don't buy the translated ones anyways.
Pretty much leaves other random sites and whatever people create themselves with uploaded scanlations, which won't be nearly as good. Guess you could go to a bookstore and hope they have the series you want and just read them in the store...

half those sites were bogus... one works but only has the latest 5... and only for the popular series.... indeed. plus it's not even like the newest versions are available to buy... plus it's hard to find them in stores since they often don't have a great selection and only have one or two of the new ones which they then sell and don't have for a long time

hmm, so no good replacements there then... =/ guess the latest 5 of the popular ones is better than nothing... but not much better.
finding japanese products such as manga and anime is hard to do... outside of Japan.

... i guess that means that i will have to see the anime to catch up on bleach.... XD even though that will take forever, it's likely to be faster than the rate the books come out.... now to figure out about law of ueki... hmmm indeed. >>

lol, could be faster... or about the same rate the way adult swim is going.
hmm, I know... find a circle of friends that get them and then trade them back and forth... << don't know any of the scanlators by chance?

i think it would still be faster... even though it is going incredibly slow on AS... that's how slow they are released... lol
rofl nope. i know a few people from other countries, but none in japan XD

lol, guess that mangaka can afford to be slow eh? and then add on translating slowness
drat... guess that idea doesn't prove to helpful either. =/

the mangaka themselves aren't slow. they do 20 pgs a week. xD the translations are really slow

hmm, then the japanese versions must be much farther along then the translated

yep. i wonder though which ones are slower at getting released in english. it probably has to do with the company that buys it...

hmm, that could be, and what they figure is more popular in japan and then more popular in america and how they charge.

still wish they would be faster. i mean people can scan them, clean up the page, and translate the latest ones in a day... so why can't the official company do that?

indeed, you'd think a good company would be able to get them out faster even if they do tons of different manga though part of it is them actually getting or wanting to get the manga to translate in the first place
