yep! now i do!! Korra seems pretty impatient. and... lol it will be interesting to see how she adjusts to the big city. Tenzin's little boy is strange. like he was dropped on his head?! it was cool seeing Tenzin and Lin... but what about other children?! you'd think since Zuko's kids would be somewhere too because both Zuko and Aang founded that city. and... wonder if any of the other cities are that advanced....

Maybe they havent been introduced yet..
Ba-sing-sae might be..it was already pretty advanced..

Impatient is putting it mildly xD
Maybe it's an airbender thing... like that one crazy airbender kid from Aang's past... only not as bad as that guy. Or could be self inflicted damage. Or maybe Oppi chewed on his head like he chewed on Tenzin's. lol
Hrmmm... guess we just haven't seen them yet. Maybe.
Ba-sing-se probably is, and possibly Omashu seeing all the work the fire nation had already done in modernizing it. Watching again, it didn't look like the Southern Water Tribe got all that much rebuilt up... sure more than it was before... but then again that could've just an off shoot and not the main southern city. The Avatar's training center down there was more like the Northern so... *shrug* Don't figure either Northern or Southern tribe would've modernized nearly so much, maybe newer ships and ports though.
lol, you mean between Korra and Makko and how Bo Lin towards Korra? Bo Lin is a bit Sokka like himself... only a Sokka that was an earth bender.
Speaking of Oppi... if Appa was the last Sky Bison like the episodes with commentary that they showed leading up to it said... where did Oppi come from? Or are Sky Bison like snails/slugs? Which seems hardly likely... <<
And thinking again on the metal benders, they're rather Dai-Lee like... which makes sense. Without Azula, the Dai-Lee would've wanted a new leader and Toph would've been the perfect choice.
Oh! And you know what knew series makes me think of? It's like taking the first series and combining it with FMA... It's Avatar with the benders and overall setting, it's FMA with the big central Republic City and steam-punkish cars... so the benders would be like the alchemists (metal benders/white lotus even more like state alchemists).

true. maybe airbenders have bad genetics... so there will be some crazy ones. i like the Oppi theory xD yeah, only a few characters so far. we'll probably get to see more hopefully soon! that's true... those cities probably would be. but ba sing sai used to run on earthbending... wonder how it'd fare in the anti-bending movement?! and yeah, the south didn't seem to have advanced much. more like, the city was rebuilt... and that's it yep yep. lots of makorra shipping and other random ones. xD it's like... hmmm we don't even know the characters that well yet!! so far, i like Bo-lin the best xD dunno.. maybe they found more airbender race? and who were all those dressed as airbenders in Tenzin's island?! maybe they found out appa was actually a girl?! and bisons have a really long pregnancy?! or... the name appa made appa cry after aang died?! they should explain this!! yeah. that's what i think Toph became the Dai Lee leader. haha kinda is!!

hehehe, Oppi chews instead of licking like Appa did! xD
Hmm, they might keep the dynamic for the group at 3 this book like they did in the previous city. Still hope to see more other characters like descendants of Zuko though.
Ba-sing-sai's huge gates used benders and those could be changed to mechanical. Hmm, thought it was Omashu that ran on earth bending? Hard to say what would happen with Omashu, as the fire nation had done a lot of modernizing there but... I can imagine that the earth benders would've gotten rid of that to remake the city the way it was and the way they wanted it. I imagine they wouldn't be too happy to just adopt fire nation tech. So... hard to say. Should be interesting to see!
I know! But they really hinted at that pairing... especially with that ending where they were staring at each other... unbeknownst.
Good questions... that could use answers! They really do have quite a lot to answer, not just from the last series but with what they've shown this series! More bat lemurs like Momo I can see as he wasn't the last one, but with the Sky Bison... Oppi had to come from somewhere! And if Appa was female... rofl. But then wouldn't there have been a few other Sky Bison as that one mother pictured in that Appa flashback showed several with one mother. *shrug* But then there were all those other people eating? in air bender garb... so they could have been air bender tribe... or maybe they just adopted in to it, like that one scientist guy and his kid who were fascinated with the air benders.
It does make sense, and the police do have a strong resemblance to the Dai Lee, just newer headgear that is more samurai like.
Yupyup, kinda... interesting that way.

maybe a tribe..or maybe air benders arent born from other air benders and are just born randomly, but had noone to train them till now?.. lol..i like the theory of the super long pregnancy xD though from the wiki: "He is a descendant of a group of flying bison found by Avatar Aang after the species was thought to be extinct. " via - avatar.wikia.com/wiki/Oogi or more in debth "During San Diego Comic-Con, it was revealed that Avatar Aang found a whole new herd of sky bison. The new subspecies has a few differences, for example: old bison had four transversed strips plus the last one, that lies at the end of the tail, whereas the new species has more strips that are thinner. The new bison also have brown fur on their ears instead of white." cant find anything there about tenzins other students though =p

lawl... a species slight variation! That makes total sense. Basically just exploiting a "loophole" so they can have more Sky Bison without retracting their, oh the Sky Bison are extinct claim from the previous series... I think the long pregnancy idea would've made more sense... xD
Hmm, well, those others haven't been mentioned as being benders and Korra said Tenzin was the only air bender to go to... at least that could train her but that could just be excluding the kids. Still... with Aangs bender bending he could've made a few knew ones...

she said he was the only air bending master, not the only adult air bender =p There were plenty of adult benders that werent masters at bending in the series. With the exception of toph and katara, everyone directly called a master was old (Iroh, Northern Water Tribe Dude, Tophs "Teacher"). Im not really sure what constitues one to be a master at bending. Maybe its mastering a certain number of techniques or something.
i think it makes sense. I mean, the fire nation was concentrating on citys and the known world. There are countless remote islands in the real world that we dont know what exsist, and there are several high mountains that we dont climb every day. We know bisons migrate, and if you got something that migrates and flys, odds are they are going tgo find a remote island and individually evolve, just like Darwins birds =p

i guess even though they said that appa was the only one left, they must have meant the only one left that they know about xD and like orc said, there were probably lots of little islands that weren't know that they could live on. (don't think that the bisons could evolve in 80 years tho) xD
and the same for airbenders.
i wonder... were all air nomads able to bend? or did the non benders have to rely on air bisons...

For air benders, you were considered a master if you were given the arrow on the head tattoo so... none of those others shown had such a tattoo and I still think she was referring to the kids as the other air benders. Hmm, good question... didn't really get to see enough of the Air Tribe society so... *shrug* You mean like how for the water tribe there was the swamp people? That could make sense... but I get the feeling the show won't go there.
So I suppose there could have been others with adaptations in coloration... though I agree with izzy, they'd probably have been around and taken a little more than 80ish years to get their adaptations just no one knew... though you'd figure someone would've known... but I suppose if they did they wouldn't make it widely known for fear fire nation would hunt them. That or people that saw them never classified them and just thought, oh, Sky Bison. Though that still would've had to be when they were common...

about the whole 80 year thing..who said that every bison was living with the air nomads to begin with? there very well could have been wild ones that were independently surviving in a remote place for thousands of years =p I mean its basically like saying something like, every stabler has a horse. Then for this example, all stablers get wiped out with there horses. You dont see a horse anymore so you think all horses are extinct too, not once thinking, youve never seen a wild horse where you live anyway, and all the ones you saw were ones tamed by stablers. There are horses in other places around the world. They arent common, but they arent gone either =p Not to mention, it was the kids who assumed he was the last one. If you remember, the people who captured appa called him a wind buffalo. It is possible that they are just rare animals. =p
about the whole arrow on the head indicating your an air bending master. Right, i said that tyson is the only master. not the only adult air bender.

found out the others are "air acolytes" they follow the air nomads way, but can't air bend xD guess they are people who converted, like Pema.
yeah, that's what I was thinking. they never knew about some civilizations like the swamp benders
no, the show officially said- that appa was the last. xD
you were the one who mentioned a flying bird evolving into a bison? i was just saying they'd probably have already been around somewhere
